- You take a bite of your child's left-over beans without thinking twice about it. (Then afterward you recall that your child's fingers and Heaven knows what else was in them. After a few chews you decide you really don't care and take another bite.)
- When you wake up in the middle of the night to pee you take an extra 5 min. to check on your kids (e.g. make sure they're still breathing, tucked in nice and warm, take the oldest to go potty, etc.).
- When you get sick, you worry more about your children and husband getting it because after all - you can handle it. Right?
- You usually get your kids dressed before you do. So when the airline stewardess reminds you to put your own air mask on before helping your children it totally goes against your nature.
- You see a bathroom sign and take a detour just to hit it so no one has an accident at the store.
- Your child empties the remains of his bowl onto his head and you begin to wonder why you even bother giving them baths in the first place. (Hey, a hose was invented for a reason, right?)
What else can you add?

So true, so true!!!! I have a few: You know you're a Mother if ~The house suddenly gets QUIET, you KNOW there's trouble!!!
~Going to the bathroom without an audience is NEARLY impossible!!!
~Going to the restroom in Public with a talking toddler really does make EVERYTHING Public!
~Having a nice conversation on the phone without being interrupted is nearly impossible!
I'll have to think about it. I might copy you and do one on my own blog, I love it!
"Next to lovin' we like fightin', we like fightin' it's excitin'" Yup that's the one....
Soon it'll be you know your a mother when you run all day and not anything you do is specifically for you. Yep, that's a mom. :)
that was good and so true! Thanks for the laugh
Funny...especially because we can all relate! I like Jill's reference to the musical "Shenandoah" - I love that song! Oh, and I'm going to use that meatball recipe too!
You know you're a mother when you enjoy clothes shopping for your kids more than for yourself.
You know you're a mother when...
you are in deep conversation with another adult and your kid throws something he shouldn't and you catch it in mid-air without even breaking eye contact with your friend.
you can have a professional phone conversation where the person on the other line has no idea that while you have been talking you have whisked a knife out of reach of your baby, taken you baby's hands out of the toilet and cleaned them off, put your toddler in time-out for banging his toys on the wall, and changed a poopy diaper.
you forget that for people with no kids certain topics are taboo, and you throw around words like throw around words like "poopy" and "breastmilk" and "vaginal delivery" like they're no big deal, much to the surprise and shock of your childless friends (or brothers).
Oh, there are so many more...this is fun.
